Aulert, “Where hits never run,” is a mobile application that connects witnesses and vehicle owners to automobile theft and damage reports. 

Based on prior experience from two hit-and-runs, this case study analyzes ways to better connect witnesses and vehicle owners to automobile theft and damage reports.

Problem
Automobile theft and damage are significant concerns for vehicle owners. Witnesses may observe a theft or damage event, but may not know how to report it or whom to report it to. Vehicle owners may also struggle to report the theft or damage promptly and efficiently.

Users want an easy-to-use platform that connects witnesses and vehicle owners to automobile theft and damage reports.

I conducted usability testing with a group of users to validate the Aulert app's effectiveness and usability. The testing results indicated that the app was easy to use and navigate, and users appreciated the app's features, such as the license plate recognition and voice recognition.
